This year’s Detroit Auto Show has been quite a satisfactory one as Kia has announced the introduction of two of their most popular vehicles, 2017 Kia Forte and Forte 5. Kia Forte is the hatch back version of this chain of cars while Kia Forte 5 is the sedan edition. These cars are very popular all over the world. In Australia, these cars are known as Kia Cerato. There, it will be released as 2017 Kia Cerato.
Kia is looking forward to make good of the head start that they have because of Forte and Forte 5’s popularity and is looking forward to making good business as these cars come armed with stunning good looks as well as top notch performance.
2017 Kia Forte Design
The most striking feature about 2017 Kia Forte and Forte 5 which catches your attention immediately is the exterior designing of these cars. This new design language is based on the new Optima concept which is going to feature in both the hatch back and sedan. Kia’s well known tiger nose shaped grille design up in front has been redesigned and is now more prominent than before.
The exterior look of Forte and Forte 5 is same, only difference being in the rear portion. We get to see a perfectly blended look of European styling in this Korean concept of Forte’s design.
Australian customers will be happy too to see a friendlier looking 2017 Kia Cerato. Among the most prominent European styling aspects, we have molded head lamps which are long shaped and a stylish, cool and sporty designed bumper cover.
2017 Forte from Kia has trim levels for both the hatch back and sedan varieties. The base level trim for both 2017 Kia Forte and Forte 5 is being called as LX. Moving up, we have the sports trim. This trim is being called as S for hatch back variant and SX for sedan variant. At the top of the pile, we have the EX trim which is being named the same for both genres.
S or SX comes with upgrades like Apple Car Play and Android Auto which are integration for smartphones into the infotainment system of these cars. Premium quality and top class leather has been provided for upholstery and is better in every other aspect. It has a catch though as it comes at a higher price.
2017 Kia Forte and 2017 Kia Forte 5 Specs
We expect to experience a power packed performance from both 2017 Kia Forte and 2017 Kia Forte 5 since they are packed with quite powerful and industrious work horses under the hood.
This latest release of these cars, hatch back and sedan sisters will see the company do away with the old 1.8 L I4 engine whose reputation was on the decline. In its place, we will have a new 2.0 L I4 unit from Atkinson which is expected to top 145 HP of this current engine. Transmission of choice is still 6-speed manual one.
Prices of 2017 Kia Forte and 2017 Kia Forte 5 is being speculated to be same as that of 2017 Kia Cerato as all these three are sister cars. Price tag in US dollars is being expected to remain same, i.e. start at $16,800.
